My second 5 day fast

I just finished my second five day water fast. My experience was similar to my first five day fast. Between the completion of my first fast and the start of my second fast, I gained all but two pounds back. Some notes:

  • Total weight loss: 10 lbs.

  • Hunger began the afternoon of day 1.

  • Did not mind the hunger. It did not grow worse as the fast progressed.

  • During the mornings I experienced an upset stomach. It went away after a couple hours and then I was fine.

  • Did mild exercises throughout fast.

  • You never realize how much you’re life revolves around food. It seems to throw your circadian rhythm off.

  • Was very calm during the whole fast.

  • Unlike the first fast, my focus increased drastically. I couldn’t stop reading everything I could get my hands on.

My new year’s resolution is to do four fast this year, once per quarter. Three more to go. For the next fast, I plan to supplement with salt tablets to see if that eases my upset stomach in the mornings.
